KET 127 KET 127 Driving Speed

The driver must drive without exceeding the permitted speed. When choosing driving speed, the driver must take into account driving conditions, especially terrain, the state of the road and the vehicle, the cargo, weather conditions, and also traffic intensity, so that they can stop the vehicle before any foreseeable obstacle. They must reduce speed and, if necessary, stop if circumstances require it, especially in poor visibility.

KET 128 KET 128 Driving Speed

If an obstacle has arisen or a threat to traffic safety has emerged, the driver (if they can notice it) must reduce speed, even bring the vehicle to a complete stop, or go around the obstacle without endangering other road users.

KET 129 KET 129 Driving Speed

In built-up areas, all vehicles are permitted to travel at no greater than 50 km/h.

KET 130 KET 130 Driving Speed

In parking lots, all vehicles are permitted to travel at no greater than 20 km/h.

KET 131 KET 131 Driving Speed

Outside built-up areas it is permitted to travel:
131.1. passenger cars, heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible mass of no greater than 3.5 t, motorcycles and tricycles on motorways from April to October – at no greater than 130 km/h, from November to March – at no greater than 110 km/h; on expressways from April to October – at no greater than 120 km/h, from November to March – at no greater than 110 km/h; on roads with an asphalt or concrete surface – at no greater than 90 km/h; on other roads – at no greater than 70 km/h;
131.2. category A1, A2, A or B vehicles driven by novice drivers, learner drivers, or persons taking the practical driving test, and buses (including school buses) on motorways – at no greater than 100 km/h; on expressways – at no greater than 90 km/h; on roads with an asphalt or concrete surface – at no greater than 80 km/h; on other roads – at no greater than 70 km/h;
131.3. heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 3.5 t, also combinations of these heavy goods vehicles with trailers, and buses with trailers on motorways and expressways – at no greater than 90 km/h; on roads with an asphalt or concrete surface – at no greater than 80 km/h; on other roads – at no greater than 70 km/h;
131.4. passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible mass of no greater than 3.5 t with trailers on motorways, expressways and roads with an asphalt or concrete surface – at no greater than 90 km/h; on other roads – at no greater than 70 km/h;
131.5. when towing motor vehicles with a rigid tow – at no greater than 70 km/h, and when towing with a flexible tow – at no greater than 50 km/h;
131.6. quadricycles and powerful quadricycles – at no greater than 70 km/h;
131.7. tractors and self-propelled machines – at no greater than 50 km/h.

KET 132 KET 132 Driving Speed

If the permitted speed on roads has been increased or decreased by appropriate road signs, the driver must comply with the requirements of the road signs; however, the driving speed chosen by the driver in built-up areas and outside built-up areas may not exceed the maximum permitted speed established for the respective vehicle or its combination with a trailer in paragraph 131 of the Rules.

131.1. passenger cars, heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible mass of no greater than 3.5 t, motorcycles and tricycles on motorways from April to October – at no greater than 130 km/h, from November to March – at no greater than 110 km/h; on expressways from April to October – at no greater than 120 km/h, from November to March – at no greater than 110 km/h; on roads with an asphalt or concrete surface – at no greater than 90 km/h; on other roads – at no greater than 70 km/h;

KET 133 KET 133 Driving Speed

On road sections where traffic conditions allow safe travel at higher speeds, the permitted speed may, by decision of the road owner, be increased by installing the appropriate road signs.

KET 135 KET 135 Driving Speed

The driver is prohibited from:
135.1. exceeding the maximum speed set by the vehicle manufacturer, regardless of whether a road sign may establish a higher permitted speed;
135.2. exceeding the speed indicated on the vehicle's speed-limiting distinguishing mark;
135.3. driving unnecessarily too slowly, obstructing the normal traffic of other vehicles;
135.4. braking sharply, if this is not necessary for traffic safety.
