Driver's medical certificate

The driver health check establishes whether a person may drive motor vehicles of the relevant category.
The medical certificate is required when taking driving exams and when renewing a driving licence. After the check, an electronic certificate (form 083-1/a) is issued and transmitted to Regitra automatically; you can also download it from esveikata.lt.
How to get the certificate
You need to present:
- an identity document;
- your driving licence (for repeat checks);
- the personal medical booklet (form 048/a) if you undergo mandatory periodic checks as an employed driver;
- form 027/a prepared in advance by a psychiatrist at the healthcare institution where you are registered;
- a prosthetics company certificate about the control check of a prosthesis (for people with a pronounced locomotor disorder).
You must also state which vehicle categories you want to drive. On arrival you fill in a health questionnaire and the obstructive sleep apnoea questionnaire (the Epworth sleepiness scale).
The two driver groups
- Group 1: AM (mopeds), A1, A2, A, B1 (motorcycles), B (cars up to 3,500 kg) and BE drivers.
- Group 2: C1, C1E, C, CE, D1, D1E, D, DE (vehicles over 3,500 kg) and T (trolleybus) drivers — plus everyone employed as a driver: taxi, ambulance, tractor and self-propelled machinery drivers, etc.
