KET tests in English: yes, the exam can be taken in English
📅 Updated 2026-09-06 · Skaityti lietuviškai 🇱🇹
Short answer: yes — the Regitra theory exam can be taken in English. You choose the language when registering at vp.regitra.lt (it cannot be changed on exam day). The content is identical to the Lithuanian version: 30 questions, 30 minutes, 80% pass mark.
Which languages are available?
Since 1 January 2026 the theory exam is available in Lithuanian, English, Polish, Spanish, French, German and Ukrainian. English is the most popular choice among foreigners. Questions in every language are official translations of the same database — the difficulty is the same. See the full language overview.
The practical exam is held in Lithuanian only since 2026, but you may bring an interpreter, including into Ukrainian (you arrange the interpreter yourself and inform Regitra in advance).
How to prepare in English
- Study in the language you will take the exam in. The biggest mistake is studying in one language and sitting the exam in another — terms like right of way, roundabout or built-up area must feel familiar.
- Use a fully translated platform. RoboKET works entirely in English — tests, theory and explanations are translated, so the terminology matches the exam wording.
- Train in real exam mode: 30 questions, 30 minutes, no hints. Register only when you consistently score 90%+ in simulations.
Who is this most relevant for?
Foreign residents, exchange students, and expats working in Lithuania who need a local licence but do not (yet) speak Lithuanian. Preparing and passing in English is now a fully official path.
