How to pass the KET exam on the first try

Short answer: fewer than half of candidates pass the Regitra theory exam on the first attempt — but the most common reason for failing is not lack of knowledge, it is registering too early. The working formula: study by topic, solve tests daily for at least 10–15 minutes, analyse every mistake with its explanation, train in real exam mode (30 questions / 30 minutes, no hints), and register only when your simulations are consistently at 90% or higher — the 10% buffer above the 80% pass mark covers stress and surprise questions.

Why more than half fail (the real reasons)

The 14-day plan

Days 1–8: one or two topics per day with tests after each. Days 9–12: full exam simulations daily, reviewing every mistake. Days 13–14: only weak topics and one final simulation. Register when three consecutive simulations are at 90%+.

Exam-day tactics

Answer everything (an unanswered question counts as a mistake), skip hard questions and return to them, and use the full time — finishing early wins nothing.
