Regitra theory exam — topics, structure and requirements
The theory exam consists of 30 general questions, with additional category-specific questions for some groups: the A group gets 5 extra questions, and the C and D (T) groups get 10 extra questions each. The exam is passed if at least 80% of the questions are answered correctly within the allotted time; the number of minutes equals the number of questions in the test.
The theory exam checks whether the candidate:
- can recall and recognise requirements or concepts when given hints or paraphrased descriptions;
- can apply the Road Traffic Rules in specific traffic situations;
- understands the road situation — can recognise factors that may affect traffic safety;
- appreciates the interests of other road users and the consequences of behaviour on the road — can assess how safe road users' actions are and what those actions may lead to.

Languages from 2026-01-01: the theory exam can be taken in Lithuanian, English, Polish, Spanish, French, German or Ukrainian, while the practical exam is conducted only in Lithuanian. An interpreter is allowed at the practical exam (including Ukrainian); the interpreter's details are verified beforehand.
