  • If the traffic light or controller signals prohibit driving through a pedestrian crossing, the driver must stop before the road sign "Stop line" and (or) the "Stop" line, the traffic light; where these are absent – before the pedestrian crossing. Drivers who could only stop at the indicated places by braking sharply when the yellow traffic light signal (or one in the form of a horizontal white bar) lights up or when the controller raises their hand are permitted to continue driving.
  • A driver who could only stop at the locations specified in paragraph 165 of the Rules by braking sharply when the yellow traffic light signal (or one in the form of a horizontal white bar) lights up or when the controller raises their hand is permitted to continue driving.
  • When a prohibitory traffic light or controller signal is on, the driver must stop before the road sign "Stop line" and (or) the "Stop" line; where these are absent – before the traffic light, the crossing or joining carriageway, the pedestrian crossing, or the bicycle crossing, so as not to obstruct vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
