- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

It is prohibited to cover registration plates with protective materials, bend them or otherwise change their shape; they must not be damaged, soiled or rusted. The plate with the registration number issued by the state enterprise "Regitra" must be attached in a clearly visible place at the rear of the motor vehicle and (or) trailer; when transporting a bicycle (bicycles) attached to the rear of the motor vehicle or trailer that covers the registration plate.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The rear of a motor vehicle registered in the Republic of Lithuania traveling to other states, and the rear of its trailer, must be marked with the Republic of Lithuania distinguishing mark if the abbreviation "LT" is not on the registration plate. This is a white oval-shaped mark with black letters "LT" in the middle. The horizontal axis of the mark must be no shorter than 175 mm, the vertical axis – no shorter than 115 mm, the letters – no less than 80 mm in height and no less than 10 mm in thickness.

A vehicle arriving in the Republic of Lithuania from another state must be marked with the distinguishing mark of the state in which it is registered, if this mark is not on the registration plate. The distinguishing marks of vehicles registered abroad and arriving in the Republic of Lithuania are determined by international treaties.

It is prohibited to operate a vehicle registered in the Republic of Lithuania with the distinguishing mark of another state.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

A distinguishing mark must be affixed to the rear of a car with studded tires – a white equilateral triangle with a red border and a tire stud symbol in the middle. The side length of the triangle is 200–300 mm; the width of the border is 1/10 of the side length.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The front and rear of a bus carrying groups of children must be marked with square distinguishing marks with a reflective yellow background, a red border, and a black symbol of the road sign "Children". The side length of the square is 400 mm; the width of the border is 40 mm. A smaller distinguishing mark, whose square side length is 300 mm and border width is 30 mm, may be used at the front of the bus.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The front and rear of a school bus must be marked with square distinguishing marks with a reflective yellow background, a red border, and a black symbol of the road sign "Children". The side length of the square is 300 mm; the width of the border is 30 mm. On both sides of the bus, there must be the inscription "MOKYKLINIS" (SCHOOL), with letters no less than 200 mm in height. The school bus is marked with linear marking emphasizing the bus's dimensions made of 50 mm wide reflective tape: white at the front, yellow on both sides, and red at the rear. Additional flashing orange warning lights must be installed at the four corners of the vehicle's roof, which are switched on only during the boarding (alighting) of pupils and flash alternately on the left and right sides of the vehicle.

The front and rear of cars driven by deaf persons may be marked with a circular distinguishing mark of 160 mm in diameter with three black circles of 40 mm in diameter, arranged at the corners of an imaginary equilateral triangle pointing downward.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The front and rear of a vehicle driven by persons with disabilities who have the right to use the distinguishing mark "Person with disability", or by persons transporting them, may be marked with square blue distinguishing marks "Person with disability" with a white border and the white symbol of the road sign "Persons with disabilities". The side length of the square is 100 mm; the width of the border is 10 mm. Persons with the right to use the distinguishing mark "Person with disability" must hold the document(s) confirming this.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The front and rear of motor vehicles and their combinations with trailers used to teach driving must be marked with a white equilateral triangle distinguishing mark with a red border and the black letter "M" in the middle. The side length of the triangle is 200–300 mm; the width of the border is 1/10 of the side length.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

On the rear, left side, of motor vehicles and their combinations with trailers whose dimensions (with or without cargo) exceed those established by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as motor vehicles whose maximum speed according to their technical specifications is lower than the maximum speed permitted in the Rules for those vehicles, a speed-limiting distinguishing mark may be displayed – a colored "Limited speed" sign indicating the speed at which the vehicle may travel. The diameter of the sign is 160–250 mm; the width of the border is 1/10 of the sign's diameter.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

The outermost edge points of cargo or of vehicles wider than 2.6 m that protrude more than 1 m beyond the dimensions of the vehicle at the front or rear, or that protrude at all to the side, must be marked with distinguishing marks – squares with a side length of 400 mm with alternating reflective diagonal white and red stripes 50 mm wide. These marks must be attached to the vehicle no lower than 0.4 m and no higher than 1.6 m from the ground. During the dark hours of the day or in poor visibility, lamps must be lit at the indicated places on the vehicle – white from the front, orange from the sides, and red from the rear.

Vehicles carrying dangerous goods must be marked and labeled in accordance with the procedure established in the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and its Technical Annexes A and B.

Long and heavy goods vehicles, buses, and trailers specified in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Regulation No. 70 must be marked with certified distinguishing marks for long and heavy vehicles in accordance with the requirements established in this regulation (the dimensions, number, arrangement, etc., of the distinguishing marks).

Motor vehicles, except mopeds and motorcycles without a trailer, must carry an emergency stop sign – an equilateral triangle whose sides of 450–500 mm in length are made of 50 mm wide reflective material.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

In buses equipped with seat belts, in front of each seat or on the bus seat or next to it in a visible place, the informational sign "Fasten your seat belt" must be displayed. The sign is blue and white; the diameter of its circle is 60 mm, and the width of the white border is 3 mm.

- - Vehicle Distinguishing Marks

Novice drivers must carry on the left side of the rear of the car a white square distinguishing mark with a green border and a green maple leaf in the middle. The side length of the square is from 100 mm to 150 mm; the width of the border is 1/10 of the side length.
